The conceptual pictures of Philip Nalys are inspired by images broadcast by television channels from across the world, or shot in sites impregnated with sacred customs and architectural or historical tradition.

His experience takes him away from the photographic realism of photographs reproducing the bare reality, to enter a reality modeled by an intuitive creation, between consciousness and unconsciousness, with a quasi-painted image that extends reality.

The latest digital technologies open ways to new pictorial experiences where a photographic technique becomes a conceptual tool and a medium.

The subjects, the long pauses, the induced blurs and sudden zoom generate, through the random organization, photographs open to introspection, imagination and to a relaxing spiritual meditation.
